The Helsinki University Museum preserves teaching and research equipment, furniture, works of arts and other valuable items. The Museum exhibitions present the history of the University and science as well as research, teaching and the people who contributed to their development. The Museum also offers related library, archive and photography services.

The Helsinki Observatory of the Helsinki University Museum functions as a visitor centre that provides information about astronomy and its history, particularly to schoolchildren and other young visitors. The Observatory has a planetarium as well as a lecture room available for hire.

The University Museum will be relocating in 2014. Library, archive and photography services will close on December 20th 2013. For further information, please contact Jaana Tegelberg, Head of Collections,
